Thanks for the post and the comment. It seems like there are the men that women throw themselves (quite literally) at, and the men who feel a date and dinner is the quickest way to get a sistah into bed.
We as Black WOMEN have feelings, needs and desires as well. We want to be seen as more than a sperm catcher- for any man.
WE WANT to be valued, understood, protected and cared for- Yes, we want to be seen as a PERSON first, not just a bed partner.
To take this a step further, if all I want is someone to sex me- a 50 year old man would NOT be on the list.
Thanks again for the posts- and keeping this conversation going.

Saying you are over 50 ... by: Anonymous
is irrelevant; I had a first date with a 53-year old man, and at dinner he took TWO handsful of an assorted mix of, what he said, were supplements ... in my naivete, I asked him why was he taking them so late (this was after 11:00 p.m.) and with ice water!! Go figure!
By the time he dropped me off, I started getting out of the car and before I knew it he walked into the building with me and insisted he wanted to walk me to my apartment ... of course, in no uncertain terms, he said, he wanted to spend the night and I had to use a school ma'am voice (I am 58)and used the latitude of age and told him to go home.
The next day, I called to, at least, say thank you for dinner (he also arranged for the waitress to bring me a slice of cake to celebrate my birthday, the next day) he did not take my calls ...
In hindsight, men are not idiots, I love men, they are just either foolish or misguided about OUR intentions and WHAT we want ... likewise, men can say that about us too, I suppose.
