Disillusion

I meet what I thought was a wonderful, conscious brother. At the beginning of our relationship, he told me he dated other people. I was coming out of a divorce and wasn't very concerned about getting into a serious relationship; so I thought what ever. Unfortunately, nearly four years later this man is still sticking to his original statement. I thought our relationship had evolved into something much deeper. When I would try to bring up the status of our relationship, I would be told he doesn't like to discuss emotional issues. Finally after feeling I was being short changed in this relationship I ended it. It only happen after I was forced to deal with him dating other people through an email I read. I could not believe I lived four years in denial and that I lowered my standards to be with this man. What an idiot.
